Software Development Specialist 3
Job Description for a Software Development Specialist 3 at Ohio Department of Health (ODH) within its Office of Management Information Systems (OMIS).
Location: Health Department Building 246 North High Street 1st Floor Columbus, OH 43215.
Compensation: $40.59 per hour, with potential increase to $42.62 after six months.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm.
Union: OCSEA.
Responsibilities- Identify interdependencies between systems and data.
- Collaborate with OMIS staff on system design reviews.
- Perform code reviews and ensure application development standards are met.
- Work with OMIS staff to identify and document system software requirements.
- Define problems and develop potential solutions.
- Perform post‑production support for business applications, including routine maintenance and enhancements.
- Assist in review and evaluation of software development tools and methodologies.
- Coordinate execution of unit and system test scripts, debugging efforts and defect tracking, support user acceptance testing, and software implementation and deployment tasks.
- Assist OMIS team with development of Salesforce application‑related training materials and software user guides, documentation, standards, and review of application development lifecycle activities.
Minimum required experience:
- 60 months combined work experience, including 12 months in the primary technology, or
- Completion of an associate core program in computer science or information systems with 42 months combined work experience, or
- Completion of an undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems with 36 months combined work experience, or
- Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Additional evaluation criteria:
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Experience in the design, configuration and coding in Salesforce applications.
- Experience with Apex code development.
- Experience with SOQL and SOSL.
- Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Experience as a lead worker or project lead.
- Experience working with customers to identify, interpret, design and analyze specific needs/requirements for application development.
