Senior Software Engineer - IE08CE

- Design and implement solutions in Guidewire Policy Center and Claim Center to enhance user experience, manage data lifecycle, ensure compliance with data retention policies, and improve system performance.
- Provide technical leadership, enforce the vision of application architecture, and maintain application environment integrity in alliance with architects and other tech leads.
- Partner with the project team to provide estimates and ensure quality and accuracy of technical designs, build, and implementation.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and actively participate in design reviews to ensure high‑quality, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Understand and implement the overall technical vision for projects, programs, and systems, considering cross‑functional impacts and integration across the organization.
- Mentor, coach, and train team members and peers, both internal and vendor partners, to enforce development guidelines and best practices.
- Work closely with the architecture team to ensure that the technical solution designs and implementation align with the architectural vision.
- Conduct a current state analysis to identify existing system capabilities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with external vendors to set expectations and lead data‑mapping/contract discussions.
- Develop and maintain data cleanup scripts to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across systems.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable delivery of software.
- Set up and configure Splunk for alerts and monitoring, providing real‑time visibility and proactive incident management.
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities through risk assessments, secure coding practices, and advanced security tools.
- Coordinate release, post‑production monitoring to ensure smooth deployment, promptly identify issues, and maintain system stability and performance.
- Drive innovation in Guidewire by implementing cutting‑edge solutions and continuously improving processes to enhance system capabilities and user experience.
- Develop code that conforms to The Hartford coding standards and industry best practices.
- Work closely with development team, BAs, application managers, QA test leads, and architects using Agile methodology.
- Oversee technical deliverables, coach and mentor junior developers, and provide technical leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5 years of experience in Guidewire Policy Center and Claim Center platforms (v7.0/8.0/10).
- 5 years of experience in GW configuration development, including PCF and GOSU development.
- 5 years of experience in GW integration development using GxModel, GW Batch, event‑driven messaging, and Document Management.
- 5 years of experience developing web‑based Java/J2EE.
- Experience leading software development teams, including mentoring, coaching, and code reviews.
- Proficiency with Java and J2EE technologies such as Java Web Services, XML, JSON, JDBC.
- Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST).
- Experience with Spring Batch/Boot.
- Experience with containerization and working in cloud infrastructure environments like Open Shift, AWS.
- Experience in the security domain.
- Proficiency with Oracle and SQL Server relational database technologies.
- Experience with open source database technologies.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and Dev Ops methodologies/tools such as Git Hub, Jenkins, Rally, Sonar Qube.
- Experience with Agile methodology and SAFe practices.
- Experience shaping and leading development of technical specifications.
Salary Range: $ – $ per annum. Base pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. Additional rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
