Project Overview
Our client is seeking a Mobile Automation Engineer for a critical project.
Job TitleMobile Automation Engineer
LocationColumbus, Ohio – Hybrid
Pay$50-$55/hr W2
What’s the Job?- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for Android native applications using Appium.
- Integrate tests with Sauce Labs Real Device Cloud for parallel, cross-device execution.
- Establish and enforce mobile automation best practices, page object patterns, and framework architecture.
- Partner with Android developers to define testability requirements early in the development cycle.
- API & Integration Testing
- Build and manage API automation collections in Postman and execute them via Newman in CI pipelines.
- Write contract and integration tests to validate backend services consumed by the Android app.
- Maintain a shared Postman workspace, environment strategy, and collection versioning across teams.
- Performance & Load Testing
- Design and execute load, stress, and soak tests using Apache JMeter to validate backend scalability.
- Define performance benchmarks, analyze JMeter results, and report trends to engineering and product teams.
- Integrate performance test runs into the release pipeline with actionable pass/fail thresholds.
- CI/CD Pipeline Engineering
- Build and maintain automated test pipelines in Azure Dev Ops using YAML-based multi-stage definitions.
- Configure pipeline triggers, agents, artifact publishing and test result reporting dashboards.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience writing automation for native Android applications.
- Proficiency with Appium (2.x preferred) — setup, configuration, and test design patterns.
- Demonstrated experience running mobile test suites on Sauce Labs Real Device Cloud.
- Strong API automation skills using Postman, including environment management and Newman CLI.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure Dev Ops with YAML.
- Practical knowledge of load and performance testing with Apache JMeter.
- Working knowledge of AWS core services (S3, EC2, Cloud Watch) for test infrastructure.
- Experience with Git and feature-branch or trunk‑based development workflows.
- Strong debugging skills — able to triage flaky tests and correlate failures to root causes.
