This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires in‑office presence in Columbus, Ohio two days per week.

Candidates must be based within a commutable distance to Columbus, Ohio.

This role does not qualify for employer‑sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

We’re looking for a Test Automation Developer (TAD) with a solid understanding of Personal Lines insurance products and workflows, particularly in product pricing functionality. Experience with Guidewire Policy Center is highly desirable. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and possesses strong technical skills in test automation and quality assurance within Agile/Scrum environments. You will play a key role in ensuring product quality through the design, development, and execution of automated and manual testing solutions while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.

This role is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test cases aligned with Agile and Scrum practices. You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and fellow testers to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and validate functionality based on user stories and acceptance criteria.

You will perform functional, integration, regression, backend data validation, and performance testing activities to ensure product quality and stability. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining automated test scripts, analyzing test results, documenting defects, and supporting defect resolution efforts through collaboration with development teams.

The role requires active participation in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives. You will contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes, automation coverage, and overall quality practices. Effective communication and collaboration across teams and time zones are essential.

Familiarity with test automation frameworks, Agile methodologies, Test‑Driven Development (TDD), and CI/CD practices is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of software testing principles and Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Spira).
• Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Ruby and/or Tosca.
• Understanding of API, UI, integration, and backend data testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Guidewire Policy Center and Personal Lines insurance products is preferred.
