Mobile Automation Engineer

Job Description

A major client of Insight Global is seeking a Mobile Automation Engineer to help build and scale the automation strategy for a native Android application. This role will focus on establishing mobile test automation frameworks, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and improving overall quality and regression coverage. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Appium, Sauce Labs, Postman, and Azure Dev Ops, and enjoys building automation solutions from the ground up while helping teams adopt best practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for native Android applications using Appium.
• Implement and optimize mobile test execution in Sauce Labs Real Device Cloud.
• Build automated regression testing and establish automation best practices.
• Develop and maintain API test suites using Postman and Newman.
• Create and support CI/CD pipelines in Azure Dev Ops using YAML.
• Design and execute performance and load testing using Apache JMeter.
• Configure and maintain mobile automation environments and test infrastructure.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to improve application quality and testability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams as automation capabilities mature.

• 3+ years of experience automating tests for native Android applications.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Appium and Sauce Labs.
• Experience setting up automation frameworks and regression testing from the ground up.
• API automation experience using Postman/Newman.
• Experience building and maintaining Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance testing with Apache JMeter.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Cloud Watch.
• Open to multi‑cloud experience or more experience with Azure/GCP as long as they have touched AWS.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving skills. Experience standing up a mobile automation environment and helping teams adopt automation best practices.
• Experience mentoring or training QA teams on automation frameworks and processes.
• Strong understanding of mobile application delivery and software quality engineering.
