Position: Sr Engineer, Software Engineer - Snowflake and Oracle (2 to 5 years experience)

This role will support the Retirement Solutions Operational Data Store and related insight capabilities as a hands‑on software engineer with a focus on data.

This position will focus on building, enhancing and maintaining modern data engineering solutions that enable trusted, scalable and business‑ready data for analytics, reporting and decision support. The current Retirement Solutions technology direction centers on a Snowflake‑based data platform. In this role, the associate will help engineer and support data pipelines, curated data assets and governed consumption patterns using modern Snowflake capabilities and related change data capture tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build and support data engineering solutions for the Retirement Solutions Operational Data Store and related insight capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to modernize data movement and transformation.
  • Use Snowflake, Snowpark and SQL‑based transformation techniques to curate high‑quality, business‑ready data assets.
  • Support orchestration and automation using Snowflake Tasks, Snowpipe and related platform capabilities.
  • Create and maintain data models and semantic views that improve business consumption and usability.
  • Enable governed data access patterns that support analytics, reporting and AI‑enabled insight use cases.
  • Apply data quality, security and control practices to ensure trusted and compliant data solutions.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate data and insight needs into resilient engineering solutions.

Location and Work Arrangement

It is our intention to fill this role in Columbus, Ohio on a hybrid basis. The team comes in for collaboration on Mondays and Tuesdays. On occasion, applications from internal candidates working remotely who bring critical industry skills and relevant experience may be considered. This role does not qualify for employer‑sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
