Retirement Solutions Technology team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled developer to join a team of software engineers supporting the Retirement Solutions Line of Business. In this role the ideal candidate will have experience working in modern web technologies, APIs, and Java along with being well versed in cloud‑native platform and secure coding practices. Effective communication and collaboration within the team, across teams and departments is critical.

• Participating in the delivery of quality solutions

• Participating in design, development, and implementation of IT solutions
• Troubleshooting complex software development problems and providing effective solutions

• Proficient in Java, Typescript, Angular, RESTful API, and Apigee

It is our intention to fill this role in Columbus, Ohio on a hybrid basis. The team comes in for collaboration on Mondays and Tuesdays.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

• Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Uses Dev Sec Ops  practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manages project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:
Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non‑traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and

Skills:

Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
