Sr Engineer, Software Engineer - Java​/Angular

Job Description Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom‑built applications. In this capacity, you will analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

• Analyze, develop, test, debug, document and deploy software according to standards and best practices.
• Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Use Dev Sec Ops  practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drive continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

• Participate in the delivery of quality solutions.
• Adhere to best practices, tools and consistent processes across various technical domains.
• Participate in design, development, and implementation of IT solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex software development problems and provide effective solutions.

• Proficient in Java, Typescript, Angular, RESTful API, and Apigee.
• Experienced in Git Hub Copilot, Git Hub version control, SQL, Kubernetes (Rancher), and Cloud Native Platform.
• Experienced working in an Agile team.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Passionate to learn and keep up with technology trends.

Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or related degree. Technology experience or non‑traditional technology certificates can substitute for an undergraduate degree. Two or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle moderately sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.

Overtime Eligibility:
Not Eligible (Exempt).

Working Conditions:

Office environment may vary based on team and/or location. Associates may have on‑call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends.

This role will be based in Columbus, Ohio on a hybrid basis. The team comes in for collaboration on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

National salary range for Sr Engineer, Software Engineer: $76,000–$143,000. Expected starting salary range: $76,000 – $115,000.
