  • Develop, implement, and maintain control algorithms for diesel engine applications using MATLAB/Simulink
    .
  • Design and validate control strategies for fuel injection, air management, EGR, turbocharger control, combustion optimization, and aftertreatment systems.
  • Develop simulation models for diesel engine performance, emissions, and control system behavior.
  • Support Model-Based Design (MBD) activities from concept through production.
  • Generate production code using Embedded Coder and support software integration into Engine Control Units (ECUs).
  • Perform model verification, validation, and regression testing to ensure software quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with calibration engineers to optimize engine performance, fuel economy, emissions, and drivability.
  • Analyze engine test data and simulation results to improve control system performance.
  • Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) testing.
  • Develop and maintain engine control software documentation, design specifications, and technical reports.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, system architecture, and design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot engine control software issues during development, testing, and vehicle integration.
  • Support engine commissioning, validation, and field testing activities.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including controls, calibration, validation, software, and mechanical engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive functional safety, software quality, and coding standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for engine controls and software development processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering
    , or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in MATLAB/Simulink development.
  • Experience developing control algorithms for diesel engines
    .
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine fundamentals including combustion, fuel systems, turbocharging, EGR, and aftertreatment.
  • Experience with Model-Based Design (MBD).
  • Knowledge of Embedded Coder and automatic code generation.
  • Experience with ECU software development and integration.
  • Familiarity with engine calibration and validation processes.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with dSPACE
    , ETAS INCA
    , Vector CANape
    , or NI Veri Stand
    .
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture.
  • Experience with CAN
    , CAN FD
    , J1939
    , UDS
    , and XCP protocols.
  • Experience with HIL
    , SIL
    , and MIL testing.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
  • Experience with diesel engine calibration tools.
  • Knowledge of GT-Power
    , AVL Cruise M, or AVL Concerto
    .
  • Experience with Python or Embedded

  • Understanding of emissions regulations (EPA, Euro VI, Tier 4, Bharat Stage VI).
