Senior Engineering Manager

• Lead the Fast Auth engineering team within McKesson's Specialty Access & Affordability value stream
• Own delivery, team health, and technical direction across multiple major work streams
• Plan and execute work streams, set goals, prioritize investment, and refocus efforts based on business impact
• Run operating cadences within SAFe, including PI planning
• Address root causes and remove team blockers
• Define Fast Auth's vision aligned with value stream and company priorities
• Partner with architects and staff engineers on Type Script, React, .NET, Azure, and event-driven architecture decisions
• Resolve misalignment with partner teams and stakeholders
• Coach the team through change, complexity, and ambiguity
• Attract, hire, retain, interview, and assess engineering talent
• Manage performance, motivate high performers, turn around low performers, and develop careers
• Structure the team and plan headcount for sustained success
• Collaborate across engineering, product, design, and quality
• Build cross-functional relationships, facilitate conversations, and settle disagreements
• Promote inclusion and address cultural issues
• Communicate clearly with engineers, executives, and cross-functional partners

• Degree or equivalent experience
• Typically 10+ years of relevant professional experience
• 4+ years of engineering management experience
• 4+ years leading software engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Track record delivering multiple concurrent work streams with real business impact
• Technical foundation in modern web stacks and cloud platforms, ideally Type Script, React, .NET, and Azure
• Working understanding of event-driven architecture and its tradeoffs
• Experience operating in a scaled agile environment, SAFe or equivalent, including planning across teams
• Data-driven approach to delivery health, including throughput, cycle time, and predictability metrics
• Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of AI tooling in engineering workflows
• Ability to resolve cross-team misalignment directly
• Clear written and verbal communication for engineers and executives
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Sponsorship is unavailable presently or in the future
• Preferred: healthcare applications, EHR integrations, prior authorization, pharmacy or payer domain experience, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, healthcare data exchange, leading people managers, team scaling, and engineering communities of practice

Demonstrates strong leadership in engineering management, with a focus on delivering impactful work streams and fostering team health. Proficient in modern web stacks and cloud platforms, particularly Type Script, React, .NET, and Azure, while effectively managing cross-functional collaboration and communication.
