The Traffic Controller – Forecourt Operations plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized flow of vehicles and pedestrians in front of the Wexner Medical Center – James and NT Forecourt. This individual supports valet and shuttle operations, provides clear directions to patients and visitors, and maintains unobstructed access to designated medical center entrances. The role requires consistent professionalism, awareness of surroundings, and outstanding customer service.

Compensation

Towne Park is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job‑related skills, experience, education or training, and location. The hourly base pay range for this position is $22 per hour.

The potential work schedule for this position is weekdays, weekends, all shifts.

Employees accrue 0.0654 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 136 hours per calendar year. Employees receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and accrue up to a maximum of 4 paid floating holidays per calendar year.

Summary

This individual supports valet and shuttle operations, provides clear directions to patients and visitors, and maintains unobstructed access to designated medical center entrances. The role requires consistent professionalism, awareness of surroundings, and outstanding customer service.

Essential

Functions

Directs all incoming vehicles to proper drop‑off, valet, or parking zones. – 25%

Ensures the forecourt remains clear of idling or unauthorized vehicles and communicates with drivers in a friendly, respectful manner.

Provides verbal directions, answers questions, and offers general assistance to patients and guests. – 35%

Maintains courteous and professional communication at all times.

Supports valet team by acting as a spotter for vehicles returning to or departing from entrances. – 15%

Communicates clearly with valet drivers and pedestrians to prevent congestion and ensure safety.

Monitors pedestrian and vehicle interactions to reduce risk and support hospital access. – 10%

Ensures access for ambulances, shuttles, patient transport vans, and VIP arrivals is always available.

Observes and reports any safety hazards, suspicious activity, or traffic issues to management or security. – 15%

Remains alert to changes in traffic patterns or high‑risk areas. Works collaboratively with shuttle, valet, and operations teams to ensure seamless traffic flow.

Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
