Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Columbus, OH. Weekly pay starts at $1700 or more per week, with additional daily incentives for mileage, stops, and safety/loyalty bonuses.
Pay & Incentives- Average weekly pay $1700+
- Solo mileage pay: $0.59 per mile (2,000‑2,500 miles per week)
- Van stop pay: $16.37 per stop plus $107.56 per dry‑van unload
- Average 8‑10 stops per week
- Rolling stop pay: $28.20
- Safety bonus: $250 four times a year
- Loyalty bonus: $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year
- Paid training available
- Routes:
North Dakota to Texas, all states east, and Canada - Tractor type:
Sleepers with APUs - Trailer types:
Dry van and Conestoga (preferred experience) - Companion policy:
Bring a person or pet on the road - Load securement:
Strapping - Freight:
Touch‑hand unloading required; commercial and residential garage doors - Endorsements:
Passport within 90 days of hire
- Medical, dental & vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO in first year; can use immediately

- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A experience: 9 months within past 3 years, OR 2 years within last 5 years, OR 5 years within last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle record check, a road test; and/or customer‑specific background or badging requirements.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
