Container Port Group (CPG®) a World Group company, is currently looking for an experienced safety-conscious person to join our family as an Equipment Operator for our Columbus, Ohio operations.
An Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating all forms of terminal operations machinery including, but not limited to top lifts, forklifts, and spotters.
Duties and Responsibilities- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Install liners in shipping containers
- Picture and document any and all container conditions
- Provides daily preventative maintenance checks of equipment as required
- Escalates equipment mechanical issues to Lead Equipment Operator
- Accurately verifies freight for quality and quantity
- Performs cycle counting as required
- Communicates with others appropriately
- Previous experience operating yard truck / equipment
- Experience with warehouse management systems helpful
- Experience with warehouse RF equipment preferred
- Knowledge of safety regulations
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or lay on back
- Frequently required to push, pull, and extend arms overhead
- Must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a confined area for two or more hours at a time
