Ramp Agent
Ramp Agent position supporting ground operations for airlines, ensuring efficient handling of baggage, cargo, and aircraft movement.
Responsibilities- Guide inbound/outbound aircraft to and from gates.
- Transport, lift, load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail between aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts.
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.
- Operate heavy equipment such as push‑back equipment, belt loaders, air‑start units, lift trucks, push‑back tugs, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers; and manually push or pull push‑carts and containers.
- Move luggage and cargo, tow planes between gates, and refill water tanks and lavatories.
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.
- Deliver cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and other vital passenger property, and prepare related records.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company’s information system.
- Follow company procedures and protocols, ensuring safe and responsible operation at all times.
- Complete required training from the company, airport governing authority, or customer.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
All AGI team members must take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others; cooperate with managers to meet legal requirements; report hazards, near misses, incidents, or dangerous occurrences; and attend required training courses.
Physical Requirements- Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items ≥70 pounds (32kg) regularly and repetitively lift items weighing 40‑50 pounds on raised surfaces.
- Carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs.
- Walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Work in cramped or high places and in all weather conditions.
- Respond to moving vehicles or aircraft and communicate via radio with crew and airport authorities.
- Good communication skills for verbal and radio interaction with flight crew, gate agents, and ground crew.
- Basic math skills for weight and balance calculations.
- Computer skills for tracking cargo and baggage.
- Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot loading and unloading issues.
- Time‑management skills to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- At least 18 years of age; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Authorization to work in the United States or Canada as required.
- Completion of ramp and SIDA training for airport authority identification security.
- Ability to secure a Customs Seal when required by customer or role access.
One+ year of relevant experience.
