College Athletics Bus Driver

Position

College Bus Driver – Central College Athletics Department

• Transport students to athletic events, to and from airports, train and bus stations, and other designated locations.
• Follow the time schedule assigned by the Central College Athletics Department or activity sponsor.
• Exercise sound judgment by maintaining safe driving standards and monitoring vehicle operation safety (e.g., tire pressure, brakes, lights, wipers, oil, and fuel levels).
• Serve as a role model for the mission of Central College and provide courteous service to students, board members, college guests, and other constituents.

• High School graduate or GED with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• CDL with Passenger Endorsement required.
• Valid Medical Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Confirmed negative pre‑employment drug test.
• Safe driving record and knowledge of the Iowa Driver’s Manual and DOT’s A Motor Carrier’s Guide to Improving Highway Safety.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with the college community.
• Compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Background check required.
• Willingness and availability to work evenings, weekends, and as needed.
