What You’ll Do:

The Ohio Readiness Response Center (ORRC) Warehouse is responsible for operational readiness, safeguarding critical public health assets, and enabling effective emergency response across the state. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Assistant 3 to join our team. In this vital role, you will use your considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures centered on Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Inventory Management and Tracking System (IMATS) along with federal and state warehouse operations.

This position will provide daily work direction, assistance, and training to lower‑level staff and temporary employees in warehouse operations (e.g., inbound/outbound processes, inventory operations). Additional duties include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries to ensure timely order fulfillment, updates, and accurate problem resolution for customers.
  • Operate electronic devices (e.g. iPad, cell phone, handheld scanners).
  • Monitor and maintain work queues.
  • Conduct inventory counts and reconciliations within WMS which may require material handling.
  • Operate personal computer and/or computer terminal to enter, update, correct, delete or send data, retrieve/look‑up data to verify/give out information or status of inventory records consisting of inventory counts, inbound receipts, outbound orders, inventory adjustments, and inventory transfers.
  • Communicate inventory status and procedures to team members.
  • Research information and compile reports (e.g., export data to spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), review data, ensure accuracy and compliance) for inclusion in summaries of activities for ORRC.
  • Participate in warehouse and inventory related special projects (e.g., identify problem areas or special concerns and provide input on process improvements).

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 29 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. The ORRC Warehouse is located in Southeast Columbus, parking at this location is free.

Evaluation Criteria


* Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Associates or advanced degree in business or public administration
  • Experience utilizing a warehouse management system
  • Experience with inbound and outbound inventory shipments
  • Experience in the order fulfillment lifecycle which includes order creation, processing, picking, quality assurance inspection and shipping logistics
  • Experience utilizing an Inventory Management and Tracking System
  • Experience creating or compiling reports (e.g., Excel)
  • Experience training staff to enter complex data into a data system
  • Experience communicating effectively with team members
  • Experience with inventory cycle counts and reconciliation
