Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented and motivated Specialist I, Inventory & Order to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the integrity of finished goods or starting material inventory in Warehouse and Distribution. Key responsibilities include inventory cycle counting, export order fulfilment planning, project management, SAP inventory transactions, inventory problem solving, and support of Warehouse Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
- Manages the receipt, storage, segregation, and shipment for destruction activities associated with rejected, quarantined, obsolete, short‑dated/expired, and damaged inventories for the BIRI Materials Management function.
- Manages the SAP delivery creation process and determines the best fulfilment method for export orders. Also manages the SAP transfer requirement process and updates requirements by determining obsolete, executed or old requirements.
- Resolves inventory and order management issues to ensure customer objectives are met.
- Participates as a project team member for projects related to Inventory Control or Warehouse Operations.
- Performs execution and reporting of the cycle counting process for the Warehouse and Distribution.
- Manages the inventory transfer process associated with the release of finished goods production batches and executes monthly performance reporting.
- Oversees planning and execution associated with miscellaneous shipping memos for donated inventory, expedited Reno transfer shipment or other special shipping requirements requiring exceptional processing.
- Facilitates the fulfilment of MISC requests for Inventory, e.g., Quality sampling, inspection, reworks.
- Participates in internal and external audits within Warehouse and Distribution (DEA, FDA, financial audits, internal audits).
- Creates new procedures and maintains existing procedures for Inventory and Order Control function as required; schedules and provides training as required.
- Acts as a back‑up for Inventory and Order Control critical functions normally performed by team members as required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with all departments within the organization, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills in order to make decisions related to inventory control functions.
- Performs root cause analysis, participates in implementation of solution, and communicates process to management.
- Ability to review work of coordinator‑ and floor‑level employees and provide guidance on problem resolution and best practices.
- Predictable onsite attendance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Business preferred, or in lieu of degree, eight years’ experience in Logistics or Distribution.
- Four (plus) years of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Three to four years of experience in SAP or similar ERP system with strong preference for experience in processing inventory and order management related transactions.
- Must hold, or be able to attain, a Hazardous Material Certification in accordance with 40 CFR 265.16.
- Demonstrated (1–2 years) professional knowledge in Distribution, Warehousing and Inventory Control Operations.
- Annual performance bonus, commission, and share potential.
