Overview
East Penn Mfg., a world class leader in automotive battery manufacturing, is expanding its distribution network and has an opening in our Columbus, Ohio Warehouse. We are seeking a highly motivated, customer‑focused Material Handler/Order Entry Clerk to join our team.
Position will include an excellent starting wage ranging from $20.00 – $22.55 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, a 401‑K savings plan, and paid time off.
Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay range is subject to change depending on work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
ResponsibilitiesThis hybrid role is primarily focused on order entry, and the remaining 25% of the role involves assisting the material handling team as needed.
- Processing, verifying, and managing customer orders with a high level of accuracy.
- General clerical responsibilities such as data entry, document management, filing, and administrative support.
- Recording inventory/production information or other data in Excel and generating weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
- Answering several phone lines and taking messages.
- Supporting warehouse operations such as picking, packing, inventory organization, and general logistics support.
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials from one location to another within the plant using a turret truck, tow motor, stack truck, and/or electric truck (walkie).
- Reading work orders or following oral instructions to move materials or containers.
- Weighing skids for shipping purposes.
- Lifting skids of product on a pallet wrapper machine with a stack truck.
- Forklift experience preferred on both stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts.
- Good communication skills.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to use a multi‑line phone.
- PC training or comparable experience (primarily WORD and EXCEL).
- Ability to use all types of office equipment.
- Good organization skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
