Inventory Control Specialist 2
The Inventory Control Specialist 2 coordinates and maintains inventory systems for materials, supplies, equipment, and fixed assets. This position manages inventory records, conducts physical audits, supports surplus and salvage processes, and helps evaluate and improve inventory control procedures and systems.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate, analyze, and maintain inventory systems.
- Receive, inspect, distribute, and maintain materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Track equipment and fixed asset inventories.
- Prepare inventory reports and maintain accurate computerized records.
- Enter, update, verify, and track inventory information.
- Support inventory control and surplus/salvage disposal policies and procedures.
- Monitor surplus property and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Coordinate equipment disposal activities.
- Evaluate inventory and distribution systems and recommend improvements.
- Conduct random physical inventory audits.
- Coordinate with offices and warehouse personnel regarding inventory procedures.
- Provide instruction and guidance on inventory control and salvage disposal procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 18 months of training or experience in inventory control.
- 3 courses or 9 months of experience in electronic data processing related to inventory control.
- 1 course or 3 months of experience in public relations.
- OR 9 months of experience as an Inventory Control Specialist.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of inventory control and related policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to understand bookkeeping procedures and calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to organize and classify information.
- Ability to communicate professionally with officials and the general public.
- Ability to lift 25–30 pounds.
