Direct and manage the district’s curriculum and instruction and assessment department. Ensure that the development and delivery of curriculum and the instructional program is effective and efficient, incorporates district goals, and supports student achievement.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in education administration
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to develop and oversee the implementation of a rigorous curriculum, for grades EC-12.
- Ability to coordinate district function
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Knowledge of the state testing program and accountability system
- Ability to use student test data systems
- Ability to perform statistical analysis
- Ability to use personal computer and software programs to collect, report, and present data and test related information
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in instructional leadership as a principal, curriculum director or testing coordinator
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional and Program Management- Oversee the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs that incorporate district goals and support student achievement.
- Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district’s goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs. Ensure that goals and objectives are developed using effective collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques.
- Monitor and reevaluate instructional programs on an ongoing basis using input from teachers and principals, applied research, and student data to determine effectiveness and improve outcomes. Recommend changes and adjustments where appropriate.
- Ensure that the necessary time, resources, materials, and technology to support accomplishment of education goals are available.
- Determine the validity of instructional materials, oversee the adoption of any new instructional materials.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings, including student achievement data to examine curriculum/instructional program effectiveness.
- Write and manage grants to secure and maintain funding for innovative and/or best practice programs based on need.
- Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, grants and documents required for Federal and State funding.
- Develop and construct a systematic MTSS plan for all campuses in the district and implement at each campus.
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists, principals, teachers, and other instructional staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on a systematic review and analysis.
- Engage instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional tools and materials to meet student learning needs.
- Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and campus performance objectives (academic excellence indicators).
- Oversee staff development programs and provide effective activities that support instructional programs, incorporate input from teachers and principals, and are consistent with the district’s mission.
- Participate in the implementation of the designated teacher appraisal system.
- Oversee CCMR plan, Gifted and Talented Plan, Bilingual/ESL Instruction and collaborate with administrators to address campus and district needs
