Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position: A&P Licensed Mechanic
PHI Health is seeking an experienced Certified Aircraft Mechanic with an A&P license to work on helicopters, supporting life‑saving missions. This role ensures our fleet of state‑of‑the‑art aircraft is always ready to respond with precision and reliability.
Responsibilities- Review and evaluate daily maintenance or inspection requirements to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft.
- Notify the Lead Mechanic of unusual situations that require schedule changes, aircraft changes, extra manpower or technical assistance.
- When stationed at a field base, maintain all assigned aircraft, review stock levels and requisition spares as needed.
- Ensure the safety and security of all company assets at field bases.
- Prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and personally certify on aircraft logs and related inspection and maintenance forms that work meets FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health requirements.
- Comply with entries in RAMCO, including work packages, status sheets, and removals and installations in physical structure.
- Maintain close communication with the Lead Mechanic, AMBS, and other agents to ensure effective and timely completion of jobs.
- Maintain parts inventory and recommend level changes when necessary.
- Maintain company‑provided special tools and ensure calibration is performed as scheduled.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma.
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant endorsements.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic.
- Basic communication skills and computer proficiency.
- Must pass a pre‑placement physical exam including a functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background check.
- For the PHI Roving Maintenance Team: sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting/repair skills.
- Ability to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, and work night shifts as maintenance demands require.
Competitive pay, shift bonuses, shift incentives, annual safety bonus, annual employee bonus, and a sign‑on bonus of up to $25,000, plus the full PHI Health benefits package.
Location and ScheduleShifts are 7‑hour days. Candidates must live within a one‑hour drive or 60 miles of the base (whichever is greater). Travel between bases is required.
