CDL Utilitieshas an immediate opening for a skilled and reliable Estimator & Revenue Manager. This person will play a key role in supporting the financial and operational success of our telecom and underground construction projects. This position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and bids, tracking revenue and job performance, and collaborating closely with operations, construction, and finance teams to maximize profitability and ensure timely invoicing.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills who is eager to grow within the construction and finance space.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed project estimates and bids by analyzing surveys, labor costs, materials, and other direct expenses
- Apply and manage vendor bill codes to ensure accurate cost tracking and profit optimization
- Analyze job performance post-completion to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement
- Track weekly revenue by reviewing and analyzing daily field logs submitted by construction teams
- Monitor job completion status to support the invoicing team with timely and accurate billing
- Coordinate with operations and construction teams to provide clarity on project scope, costs, and progress
- Maintain organized and accurate financial and project documentation
- Preserve strong relationships with customers, vendors and coworkers
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
- 1–5 years of experience in estimating, construction finance, or a related corporate finance role
- Prior experience in the construction industry, and preparing bid packages and requests for proposals preferred (telecom or underground construction a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience using Quick Books
- Experience with Buildertrend and Smartsheet
- Experience with Building Connected or similar bid management platforms
- Willingness and ability to learn new software and adapt to evolving systems and processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and construction teams
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
