Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 34-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes a Certified Home Health and Licensed Home Care Agencies, 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, social and medical adult day programs and on-site dialysis.
Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences) and our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens). Our off-site continuum includes the Island Nursing and Rehab Center which is a 120-bed facility located in Holtsville, NY.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Director for our Certified and Licensed Home Care Agencies who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents. Will be responsible for assisting with overseeing and directing all operational issues, ensuring NYS DOH compliance, and ensuring the reputation of Guriwn Home Care. The Assistant Director supervises staff, provides appropriate employment development, and drives accountability of staff to meet goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for ensuring operational processes are streamlined and delegated to appropriate staff.
- Provides leadership to and supervises staff, drives necessary level of accountability to ensure Home Care standards are consistently maintained.
- Effectively manages and directs the HR and coordinating functions of Home Care.
- Paricipates in formulating, evaluating and revising agency policies and procedures.
- Performs duties with approproate attention to fiscal impact.
- Maintains excellent relationship with caregiver staff, identifies and addresses issues readily, supports administrative staff development that consistently recognizes the contribution of the caregiver.
- Promotes teamwork and celebrates accomplishments of staff. Addresses opportunities for staff development timely and effectively.
- Proactive in issue identification and resolution related to customer satisfaction/service provision; maintains the reputation of the Gurwin name.
- Develops and supports effective recruitment and marketing strategies that support targeted outcomes of the budget; develops and maintains excellent resource network.
- Successfully meets targeted performance indicators related to Assistant Director position.
- Demonstrates an atitide of cooperation and professionalism when dealing with peers and supervisors. Performs work in the true spirit of the team.
- Performs job function with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, consintently aware of the fiscal impact.
- Exhibits necessary attention to detail and timely follow through.
- Accepts direction and constructive feedback, comprehends overall concepts communicated and makes necessary changes to imrove results.
- Consistently performs responsibilities with focus to customer service. Understands who the internal external customer is, addresses issues, and resolves through to full recovery.
- Maintains appropriate level of comfidentiality consistent with HIPAA regulations. Adheres to the compliance policy and procedures.
- Performs related tasks as assigned.
- A BS degree in Health Care or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of licensed home care agency management and marketing skills are required.
