Are you passionate about helping individuals reach their fullest potential? Do you have experience in behavioral assessment, treatment planning, and staff development? If so, UCP Long Island is looking for a dedicated Behavior Specialist to join our Residential Services team.

Make an Impact Every Day

As a Behavior Specialist, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed psychologist to assess needs, develop individualized behavioral support plans, train staff, and help individuals achieve meaningful personal goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and psychological testing
  • Develop individualized behavior support plans that promote:
    • Self-direction
    • Emotional well-being
    • Skill development
    • Independence and community participation
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment goals and outcomes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning
  • Train and coach direct support professionals on behavior support strategies
  • Collaborate with psychological, psychiatric, and residential teams
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide ongoing support, consultation, and behavioral guidance across residential programs
What We're Looking For:
  • Master's Degree in Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience in behavioral assessment and intervention
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
