General Purpose of the Job

Responsible for overall administration of assigned residences, including regulation compliance, staff supervision & training, monitoring of budgets and physical plant issues, and ensuring quality of care for the individuals served.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Insure adequate coverage of all residences, i.e., monthly staffing/scheduling.
  • Insure proper correspondence with parents and outside providers, i.e., day programs, DDSO, caseworkers.
  • Supervise financial component.
  • Inspect the DDP's for accurate completion and documentation.
  • Audit preparation of consumer records to meet state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate, attend, and insure accurate completion of incident review component.
  • Weekly supervision of managers/assistant managers.
  • Maintain weekly residence managers/assistant managers staff meetings.
  • Conduct staff evaluations - residence managers, assistant managers, and clinical team.
  • Interview and hire residence managers, assistant managers, and clinical team.
  • Rotating on call administrator.
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Residential Program-Managers, Social Workers;
    Applied Behavior Specialists, Nurses and Recreation Therapists. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises various non-supervisory employees.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university and one to three years OPWDD management experience and/or training. Valid NYS Driver License plus one year licensed driving experience required.
