About This Role
The Ambulatory Care Nurse
- Multispecialty
- Huntington will support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. This role is ideal for a nurse who is committed to providing comprehensive care and collaborating with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care.
- Pay: $ - $ Annually
- Location: Commack, NY
- Facility: NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island
- Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health history
- Record information in electronic health record
- Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans
- Administer medications, provide comprehensive wound care, and perform phone and in-person patient triage
- Assess and monitor patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia
- Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients
- Direct, supervise, and delegate to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians
- Support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and performance evaluation of nursing practice
- Participate in clinical inquiry and activities to foster evidence-based practice
Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred; Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing with a minimum of one year experience required
Experience:
Emergency room or critical care nursing experience preferred
Licenses &
Certifications:
Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York licensure required
BCLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
