About This Role
The Ambulatory Care Nurse, Per Diem - Commack will support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. This role is ideal for a dedicated nurse looking to provide comprehensive care and participate in quality improvement activities.
Highlights- Pay: $42.50/hour
- Location: Commack, NY
- Facility: NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island
- Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collect patient health history
- Record information in electronic health record
- Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans
- Administer medications, provide comprehensive wound care, and perform patient triage
- Assess and monitor patient responses to various treatments and procedures
- Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans
- Direct, supervise, and delegate to licensed practical nurses and medical assistants
- Participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities
- Support the coordination and implementation of nursing practice and clinical policies
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (Associate Degree may be approved with conditions)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in applicable area
Licenses &
Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse License in New York
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification preferred
