Quality Assurance Technician
We are currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team! The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for inspecting raw materials and work in the process with finished goods to ensure compliance with product specifications.
Responsibilities:- Inspect and evaluate graphic products (e.g., prints, packaging, digital designs) for quality and consistency
- Ensure colors, typography, images, and other design elements meet the specified standards and client specifications
- Conduct regular tests on prints, including color matching, image clarity, and alignment
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established workflows and industry best practices; verify print runs to ensure consistency in color, contrast, and sharpness
- Review pre-production proofs and samples for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure that the final product meets the specified standards in terms of finish, texture, and durability
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, testing results, and corrective actions taken
- Prepare and report detailed findings on defects or non-conformities to relevant departments
- Document any necessary improvements or changes required in the production process
- Work closely with design, production, and client services teams to address quality concerns and client specifications
- Provide feedback to production staff to ensure ongoing product quality and consistency
- Prepare tailgate samples per customer requirements and final release all jobs
- Assist with training staff on best practices for quality assurance and identifying potential areas for process improvement
- Investigate and resolve issues related to production defects, incorrect materials, or design discrepancies
- Assist in troubleshooting printing or design-related issues during the production
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality control and production efficiency
- Suggest improvements for workflow optimization, technology upgrades, and software tools to maintain high-quality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in graphic design, printing technology, or a related field is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in quality assurance, graphic design, printing, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies in design, color, and print quality
- Knowledge of printing techniques, digital design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and file preparation
- Familiarity with print production processes, color theory, and industry standards
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges effectively
- Ability to stand for extended periods during inspections and testing
- Comfortable working with printing equipment and machinery in a production environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (24-hour turnaround on product)
- Aptitude for mechanical operation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
- Excellent attendance and punctuality - accurately record work time on a daily basis
- Able to operate a computer and time clock machines
