Responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products to adults and children, working with prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists. This position advises and assists patients with various types of lenses and spectacle frames, including style, weight, and color.
The pay range advertised for this position does not include additional compensation paid out through our spiff program.

- Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, including:
- Grand opening look daily; all items stocked and planograms executed; signage visible and accurate; clean and organized environment.
- Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department.
- See the connection between consistent execution and positive business impact.
- Verify order data entry, compare Rx to the original Rx from the doctor, and ensure all information is accurate in the system. Complete proper filing procedures in the store.
- Deliver sales by providing excellent member service in person and over the phone. Explain procedures under the exam fee clearly and maintain a friendly demeanor.
- Take measurements, select correct frame for Rx power, read prescriptions on the lensometer, notify product readiness, and manage order progression in the system (received, notified, dispense) and related transactions.
- Strive to meet sales and metric goals by educating patients on available products and recommending those that fit their needs.
- Engage with members during downtime in front of Optical.
- Adhere to HIPAA and other privacy policies; provide eyeglass adjustments and repairs as needed.
- Assist Optical Manager with opening/closing procedures; ensure accurate funds are collected at point of service.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned; regular, predictable attendance is essential.
- Must be licensed to work as an optician within the state and keep license up to date and active.
- Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
- High school diploma, college degree, and/or wholesale/retail/optical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Open shift availability required for full-time positions.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Mostly active movement on hard surfaces; may require bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds; larger movements with assistance possible.
- Indoor environment with exposure to temperature variations and noise; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
- Use of optical hand tools to adjust and repair eyeglasses, including nose pads and small screws.
Compensation:
The following is a good faith estimate of the pay range. Actual salaries vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications. Pay range: $29.00 – $35.50.
