Responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products to adults and children, working with prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists. Advises and assists patients with lens and frame choices, including style, weight, and color.

• Verifies order data entry, compares prescription with doctor's written prescription; ensures data accuracy.
• Completes proper order filing procedures, filing the order under the correct ABC system in the store.
• Delivers sales by providing excellent Member service in person and over the phone; explains procedures for exam fee.
• Takes measurements, assures correct frame selection for Rx power, reads prescriptions on the lensometer, and notifies of product readiness.
• Advances the order in the system and handles all money related transactions accurately.
• Educates patients on product benefits to help them meet visual needs; recommends appropriate products.
• Engages with members in front of Optical during downtime.
• Adheres to all privacy and confidential/company policies (HIPAA).
• Provides support with eyeglass adjustments and repairs.
• Assists Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures at the start and end of shift.
• Ensures accurate funds collection and payment processing at point of service.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Must be licensed to work as an optician in the State and keep license up to date and active.
• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
• High school diploma, college degree, and/or experience in big-box wholesale, retail, or optical preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Open shift availability required for full‑time positions.
• At least 18 years of age.

Much of the time moving frequently on hard surfaces; occasional bending, reaching, stooping. Requires lifting objects up to 20 pounds, or moving heavier items with assistance. Work in an indoor area with temperature extremes, loud noise, occasional cleaning agent exposure. Use optical hand tools to adjust and repair eyeglasses.

Starting rate is $33.00–$36.00 hourly. Salary will vary depending on location, education, experience, qualifications. Spiff program provides additional compensation. All positions adhere to non‑discriminatory salary practices.
