The hiring range is $23.51 - 26.12 / hourly.
Join our dynamic team at the Recreation Center as a Recreation Assistant
- Facilities! Under the guidance of our dedicated Recreation Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in training and supervising our front desk staff, ensuring that our community receives outstanding customer service and accurate information.
We are looking for a reliable individual to open the rec centers in the morning. Additionally, you will support rentals, bookings, setups, payment collection, calling renters, and managing all logistics involved. If you thrive in a team-oriented environment, possess strong conflict resolution skills, and have a flexible attitude, we want to hear from you!

Minimum Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of related experience. Must have experience in telephone courtesy, cash handling and customer service; computer experience and skills in Windows and MS Office software applications. Must possess a current CPR/First Aid certificate or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and supply motor vehicle record prior to hire.
Benefits- Holidays: 12 paid holidays each year with the addition of an 8-hour Floating Holiday (in addition to the Floating Holiday that can be earned by participating in the Wellness Program).
- General Leave:
Employees receive a General Leave bank when they’re hired, prorated based on their start date. General leave can be used for vacation, sick time, personal needs, caregiving, school activities, holidays not observed by the City, and other approved reasons in line with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. - Other Paid Time Off:
Jury Duty, Injury Leave, and Military Leave are also available to employees.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
We provide a confidential Employee Assistance Program to help support you and your family on any issue of concern. Eight private counseling sessions are available on a range of needs including, but not limited to marital issues, parenting concerns, grief counseling, supervisor issues, and drug and alcohol abuse. - Tuition Reimbursement:
The City provides a tuition reimbursement program that reimburses qualified educational expenses. - Eligibility for Pay Increases:
Employees are eligible for a pay increase during their annual appraisal following a successful evaluation. Pay increases do not come at the time of the six-month introductory evaluation. - Personal Computer Employee Purchase Program:
To encourage the development of employee computer skills, the City offers an interest-free loan to you for the purchase of computer hardware (including a Desktop or Laptop) and software. The employee must have successfully completed their 6-month Introductory Period for eligibility. - Recreation Center Membership:
Employees and family members are eligible for a membership to the Commerce City Recreation Center for $5.00 per person per year. - Golf Course Green Fees:
Employees can play the City's award‑winning Buffalo Run Golf Course at a rate of $9.00 for 9‑holes or $18.00 for 18‑holes. Employees can also purchase golf merchandise at discounted prices.
