Job Purpose Summary

The Assistant School Spirit Sponsor – Drill provides vital support to the Adams City High School Drill Team by assisting with practices, performances, and team logistics. This role enhances school spirit and student engagement by promoting technical skill, artistic precision, and teamwork. Working under the direction of the Lead Sponsor, the assistant helps foster an inclusive and disciplined environment that reflects high standards and school pride.

Requirements

| Skills
  • Associate’s Degree or higher (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Three years of successful experience in dance/drill support, youth programming, or coaching
  • Familiarity with drill team choreography and performance standards
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Key Functions,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Support & Instruction
  • Assist in leading drill team practices and rehearsals
  • Provide instructional support for routines, techniques, and formations
  • Help promote teamwork, focus, and performance readiness
  • Reinforce expectations for academic performance and participation
Event & Spirit Coordination
  • Help prepare for performances at school events, competitions, and parades
  • Assist in music and theme selection aligned with school identity
  • Accompany the team to events as needed, including travel or off‑site engagements
Community & Collaboration
  • Communicate regularly with families and school staff
  • Help organize and supervise fundraising events
  • Support budget tracking for uniforms, props, and team needs under guidance of the Lead Sponsor
Eligibility & Compliance
  • Assist with attendance, registration, and physicals documentation
  • Monitor academic eligibility in collaboration with the Lead Sponsor and administration
  • Help coordinate rosters, travel logistics, and CHSAA requirements

Evaluation and Stipend Determination

The site principal or designee will evaluate the fulfillment of duties at the end of the school year. Stipend determination will be based on the completion of the following responsibilities:

Practices & Performances

  • Practices held regularly and routines prepared
  • Performances conducted at major school events

Spirit Building

  • Organizes school spirit activities or themed events
  • Promotes positive school culture across student groups

Student Growth & Inclusion

  • Students demonstrate growth in skill and confidence
  • Team environment is inclusive and respectful
  • Team maintains or increases in membership and regular participation

Community Engagement

  • Supports at least one fundraiser or outreach effort
  • Maintains communication with families and supporters

Professionalism & Leadership

  • Communicates with staff, students, and parents professionally
  • Attends required meetings and school wide events

Completion Level Description Stipend Determination

  • 75–100% Most or all duties completed – Full Payment
  • 50–74% Some key duties completed – Partial Payment
  • Below 50% Minimal contribution or participation – No Payment or reduced proportionally

Adams 14 is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits and complies with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, financial security, and well‑being of our employees.

Compensation for this position is paid on Supplemental Schedule 03 - $2,293 per year to $3,326 per year (2025‑2026), based on verified experience, qualifications and school level and aligned with the Adams 14 salary schedule. This position is temporary and days are spread across the 188 day school year.
