As a Special Education Paraprofessional at CLA/VPA, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Support Students with Disabilities
  :
  Assist with classroom activities, including providing support during lessons, helping with individualized tasks, and reinforcing concepts for students with disabilities
• Collaborate with the Learning Specialist
  :
  Work directly with the Learning Specialist and other staff members to ensure students receive the individualized support they need
• Provide One-on-One or Small Group Instruction
  :
  Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with academic tasks
• Support Classroom Management
  :
  Help maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment for students
• Assist with Behavioral and Academic Support
  :
  Help implement behavior intervention plans and assist students in navigating academic tasks
• Assist with Documentation
  :
  Help track student progress and maintain accurate records for students with IEPs
• Participate in School Routines
  :
  Support daily school routines such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities

  You are open to receiving CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training to help support students in crisis situations and promote a safe classroom environment
• Is Patient and Compassionate

  You show empathy and respect when working with students, fostering a positive learning environment
• Works Well in a Team
  :
  You collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other staff members
• Has a Positive, Can-Do Attitude
  :
  You approach challenges with enthusiasm and are eager to learn and grow in a supportive school community

• High School Diploma (required)
• Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred
• Special Education experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Willingness to work directly with the Learning Specialist and collaborate with a team of support staff
• Willingness to receive CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training
