Educational Interpreter - Commerce , Colorado

Make a meaningful impact supporting a young learner by working as a Sign Language Interpreter in an elementary school setting. This contract role offers the chance to provide vital communication access as a 1:1 interpreter for a student, helping ensure their inclusion and success throughout the academic year. Located near Commerce City, CO, you will work onsite and collaborate closely with educators and support staff in a dynamic, welcoming environment.

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
• Demonstrated experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
• Strong skills fostering communication between students, staff, and families
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Comfortable adapting to the needs of an elementary-age student
• Commitment to working in-person for the duration of the assignment

• Provide one-on-one interpreting services for an elementary school student throughout the school day
• Accurately convey classroom instruction and peer interactions using American Sign Language
• Adjust interpreting style to support the student's developmental and academic needs
• Collaborate with the educational team to promote full participation in classroom activities
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation as required
• Serve as a language model and advocate for communication access

• Work full-time, 37.5 hours per week during school hours, allowing for a healthy work-life balance
