JOB PURPOSE SUMMARYProvide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the assigned core academic content area to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies, critical thinking skills, and content knowledge necessary for success in college, career, military service, and civic life. All employees of the district are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, utilize feedback to improve instructional performance, and commit to championing the needs of our students.
MathematicsSpecific
A successful Mathematics Teacher develops students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem‑solving skills through rigorous standards‑based instruction. The teacher promotes analytical thinking, perseverance, and real‑world application of mathematical concepts.
Science SpecificA successful Science Teacher engages students in inquiry‑based learning experiences that develop scientific reasoning, investigation skills, and understanding of the natural world. The teacher fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and evidence‑based decision making.
English Language Arts SpecificA successful English Language Arts Teacher develops students' literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening experiences. The teacher fosters appreciation of diverse perspectives and prepares students to communicate effectively in academic and real‑world settings.
A successful Social Studies Teacher develops students' understanding of history, geography, civics, economics, and culture. The teacher promotes civic engagement, critical analysis, and informed participation in a diverse and democratic society.
Dual Language IdentifiedA successful Secondary Dual Language Teacher delivers rigorous academic instruction in English and the partner language while promoting bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross‑cultural competency. The teacher supports students in developing content knowledge and language proficiency through culturally responsive instruction aligned to district dual language program goals.
This position is intended for core academic content areas. Teachers assigned to elective or CTE courses shall be assigned under TCH-11, TCH-12, or TCH-13.
REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Must possess or qualify and receive within 30 days of hire an appropriate Colorado educator license and endorsement applicable to the assigned teaching assignment.
Work Experience RequiredSuccessful completion of an approved educator preparation program, student teaching experience, residency program, or equivalent experience preferred.

- Understanding of effective secondary instructional strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.

- Knowledgeable of Colorado Academic Standards and curriculum frameworks.
- Bilingual endorsement preferred.
- Regular attendance is essential.
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
