Under general supervision, the Early Learning Child Care Center Lead is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the Early Learning Center. This position ensures compliance with licensing rules and regulations, manages and operates infant, toddler, preschool, or school-age child care programs, supervises staff, ensures a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for children, supports teen parents and families, and maintains required records and fiscal operations.

The position develops and promotes positive relationships among students, families, staff, community partners, and school personnel.

REQUIREMENTS

Associate's Degree required.

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Prior experience may be considered in lieu of the BA degree.

License / Certification Required

Must possess within 30 days of hire Large Center Director Certificate through the Colorado Department of Early Childhood, Child Care Licensing and Administration, Division of Early Care and Learning. The district may assist in the application for this certification.

Work Experience Required

Minimum of two (2) years experience with infants and toddlers in a licensed child care facility with at least one (1) year in a management role

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, students, and staff.
  • Effective English and Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESChildcare Center and Blocks Program Operation
  • Manage and operate infant, toddler, preschool, or school-age child care programs, including supervising staff, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for children, maintaining compliance with state and local regulations, and supporting fiscal operations.
  • Develop and promote positive community relations among school, family, student, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure the safety of children by providing sufficient and appropriate supervision and guidance at all times.
  • Use positive techniques to support and guide behavior and promote respectful and cooperative interactions among children.
  • Plan and implement program activities that provide children with opportunities to learn, develop skills, explore interests, experience a sense of self-worth and belonging, and contribute to the classroom community.
  • Build healthy relationships with children by actively engaging with them, relating to them positively, and responding to their unique needs and interests.
  • Address and manage conflict, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support a learning-oriented organizational culture that emphasizes quality experiences for children, collaborative relationships, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, healthy, positive, and caring environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence is encouraged, and individuality is respected.
