Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welding Team Leader to oversee daily welding operations in both fabrication shop and field construction environments. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will lead a team of skilled welders, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of welders to achieve production goals and uphold quality standards.
  • Assign daily tasks, track progress, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Inspect welds and final products for compliance with specifications and industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support in MIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding.
  • Enforce workplace safety protocols; conduct regular safety inspections and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Train and mentor team members on proper welding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Foremen and Project Managers to troubleshoot issues and optimize workflow.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; welding technical certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Familiar with Colorado state safety and environmental regulations for industrial/construction sites.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS (American Welding Society) Certification(s).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as welding helmets, gloves, and respiratory protection.
  • Must have full range of motion and physical stamina to perform manual tasks related to welding and fabrication.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
