We are seeking a hands‑on Service Technician to support transformer and switch gear repair and maintenance operations in Commerce City, CO
. This role focuses on electrical and mechanical service work involving inspection, troubleshooting, and component repair of power distribution equipment. The technician will work in both shop and field environments while following strict safety and environmental standards in the Commerce City, CO service area.

- Repair and maintain transformers and switch gear equipment in the Commerce City, CO facility and customer sites.
- Follow safety and environmental compliance standards while performing all service activities.
- Complete work orders, document parts usage, and track labor time accurately.
- Conduct internal and external equipment inspections to identify mechanical or electrical defects.
- Service transformer components, including re‑gasketing, bushing replacement, and tap changer maintenance under supervision.
- Operate pumps to drain or refill insulating oil safely during transformer servicing.
- Perform basic diagnostic checks, including connection verification and entry‑level electrical testing such as turns ratio and insulation resistance.
- Prepare equipment surfaces by sanding, cleaning, or priming transformers prior to painting.
- Use forklifts and industrial material handling equipment within safety load limits.
- Support hybrid technician duties, including welding or industrial painting if qualified.
- Drive company truck and trailer for field service travel.
- Travel approximately 35% of the time, with company‑paid per diem, hotel, and fuel expenses.
- Submit service reports and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and internal teams.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of shop, manufacturing, or technical maintenance experience.
- Basic understanding of electrical equipment or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to perform physical service work, including climbing equipment structures or accessing transformer tanks.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.
- Experience with transformers or switch gear systems is a strong advantage.
- Welding, fabrication, or industrial painting experience is a plus.
- OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, or AED training preferred.
- Forklift operation or material handling certification beneficial.
