  • Provide advanced-level support for installation, maintenance, and monitoring of corrosion control systems
  • Perform non-destructive testing on facilities
  • Install, test, adjust, and repair rectifiers, anodes, and test points
  • Troubleshoot and repair interference and foreign contact problems
  • Perform continuity tests, soil resistivity surveys, and other special surveys
  • Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair cathodic protection tools and equipment
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is completed on company vehicles
  • Complete and update test readings, atlas pages, maps, plats, diagrams, job orders, completion reports, and equipment maintenance reports
  • Compile, verify, and prepare forecast-versus-actual expense information and governmental, regulatory, financial, and reconciliation reports
  • Measure internal, external, and atmospheric corrosion according to industry standards
  • Conduct environmental activities as specified by the position
  • Perform Department of Transportation-covered pipeline operations, maintenance, or emergency-response functions as assigned
  • Remain alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in corrosion control
  • Experience and training in company and governmental operating/safety procedures
  • Experience with construction and maintenance activities
  • Experience locating lines
  • Knowledge of One Call System policies and procedures
  • Experience using, maintaining, and repairing cathodic protection tools and equipment
  • Experience with facility/system operations
  • Experience with pipe coating, basic chemistry, electronics, and metallurgy
  • Experience reading and interpreting maps, drawings, procedures, survey results, plats, atlas pages, rectifier reports, and applicable operation and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to communicate and exchange written and verbal information and instructions
  • Ability to work in confined areas and on elevated surfaces
  • Ability to react immediately to emergency situations
  • Ability to operate required tools and equipment
  • Ability to drive for extended periods
  • NACE Cathodic Protection Certification/Corrosion Certification preferred
  • Ability to perform heavy work, exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, and 10-20 pounds constantly
  • Ability to work in inside and outside environmental conditions, including weather, wet/humid conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, gases, moving mechanical parts, electric shock risk, vibration, loud noises, unprotected heights, repetitive motion, and computer monitors
  • Travel to other locations and job sites required
  • Applicable driver's license may be required when assigned a company vehicle
