A school district in Commerce City, Colorado is seeking a qualified School Social Worker for a fulltime, school based contract
. This position serves K12 students and focuses on supporting students' social emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs to promote academic success and overall wellbeing. Candidates who are collaborative, compassionate, and committed to student advocacy are encouraged to apply.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support student social emotional and behavioral needs
- Conduct social, emotional, and behavioral assessments as appropriate
- Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to support student success
- Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing social or emotional challenges
- Connect students and families with school and community resources
- Assist with attendance improvement, behavior support, and student engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state, district, and federal guidelines
- Active Colorado Special Services Provider License with School Social Worker endorsement required
- Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
- Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field
- Previous school based social work experience preferred
- Experience supporting students with social emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs preferred
- New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply
- Strong counseling, crisis intervention, and case management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Knowledge of school based intervention and support strategies
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
- Monday Friday
- 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Approximately 3740 hours per week
