Senior Accountant – Commerce, CA

TCI Companies is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team in Commerce, CA
. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting key operational decisions across our Trucking & Brokerage business units. If you’re analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare work papers and supporting documentation for external auditors and tax firms
- Manage fixed asset accounting
, depreciation, and ERP maintenance (Sage) - Assist with general ledger transactions within the McLeod system
- Create and maintain desktop procedures for all accounting processes
- Prepare monthly/quarterly sales commissions and incentive-based compensation metrics
- Support data analytics and process-improvement initiatives
- Work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills (vLookups, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs)
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability
- Experience preparing and resolving account reconciliations
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to take ownership
