Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Position Summary

Ledgent Accounting & Finance is seeking a strategic, hands‑on and detail‑driven Controller to join one of our growing construction client’s accounting team near Vernon, CA.

This hands‑on role blends construction/project accounting, cost analysis, and strategic financial oversight.

• Oversee project accounting, including WIP, job costing, progress billings, and revenue recognition
• Monitor project margins, identify risks, and partner with Operations to improve profitability
• Lead inventory and cost accounting activities, including labor, materials, and overhead analysis
• Own month‑end close, financial reporting, and audit readiness
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital planning
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes and systems
• Lead and develop the accounting team while serving as a key business partner to leadership

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• WIP tracking/reporting experience
• Construction industry experience required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and cost/job accounting
• Proven leadership and ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
• CPA license (+)
• Sage Intacct (+)

Salary: USD
150,000 - USD
175,000 per year.
