Responsibilities

Reporting to the Logistics & T/C Manager, you are responsible for supporting both trade compliance activities and daily shipping operations in accordance with company, customer, and government requirements. This role assists in maintaining compliance with U.S. import and export regulations, supporting Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, and gathering data for duty drawback, while also executing domestic and international shipments

Position Duties Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Generate shipping labels and documentation
  • Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, SLIs
  • Prepare AES/EEI filings
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments
  • Review pick tickets for special instructions
  • Process shipments in ERP systems
  • Track shipments and resolve issues
  • Communicate with carriers and internal teams
  • Maintain shipping records
  • Assist with billing and documentation
  • Coordinate with brokers and forwarders
  • Analyze and interpret ITAR, EAR, OFAC, Customs, and other applicable regulations; maintain current knowledge of changes and assist in maintaining compliance.
  • Support FTZ operations including inventory tracking and reconciliation
  • Prepare, review, and approve export/import licenses, permits, and authorizations; manage them through their lifecycle.
  • Review CBP Forms 7501, 3461, 7512, 214
  • Support import data reconciliation
  • Gather and organize data for duty drawback claims
  • Maintain trade compliance records and documentation
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Prepare reports from ERP/MRP systems
  • Review shipping documentation for compliance
  • Coordinate with internal departments
  • Support trade compliance training efforts, including preparing materials, tracking completion, and maintaining training records.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure proper handling of controlled goods.
  • Provide support on ad hoc trade compliance initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Assist in implementation of compliance policies, internal controls, and technology control plans.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least three years of experience with export and/or import regulatory compliance and with international business transactions and shipping documents, export documentation, Incoterms, or related experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or import/export operations, with exposure to international transactions and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of S. trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, Customs Regulations, and Foreign Trade Regulations.
  • Familiarity with standard international shipping documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, SLIs) and key data elements such as Incoterms, HTS/Schedule B, country of origin, and export classifications.
  • Exposure to or basic understanding of Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and/or duty drawback processes is a
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to work in ERP/MRP
  • Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and
  • Ability to review information for accuracy, follow established procedures, and support compliance-related
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge in trade compliance and logistics
Preferred
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, law, engineering, or a related
  • Aerospace/regulated industry experience
  • FTZ or drawback experience
