Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3 Infant/Toddler Units on official transcript required upon hire, 6 Infant/Toddler units required within 12 months of hire.
  • Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Science, or a related field is required. Bachelor's Degree or current enrollment in a Bachelor's program is strongly preferred.
  • Valid California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher-level permits.
  • Current approved EMSA First Aid;
    Adult, Infant and Child CPR Certifications (8 hours)
  • 9 Hour course in Preventative Health Practices (PHP).
  • Current TB, influenza (limited exceptions), pertussis, and measles vaccination and physical exam.
  • 1 year of experience with infant/toddler, preferred
  • 2 years of teaching experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Head Start performance standards, preferred
  • Creative curriculum experience, preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal), preferred.
