This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Commerce, CA location.
Responsibilities- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with planning concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Summary/Objective The Product Engineer is responsible for summary plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process in industrial plant by performing the following duties in compliance with safety and quality guidelines. Key responsibilities will include and may be required that are not assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university in engineering discipline.
- 2-3 years' minimum experience in engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak efficiently before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Mathematical skills: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning ability: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer skills: advanced knowledge of design software (Solid Works).
- Physical requirements:
ability to lift, carry, or move materials and components (up to specified weight); prolonged periods of standing, bending, and repetitive motions; manual dexterity and coordination for using hand tools and assembly equipment; specific vision faculties. - Work environment: manufacturing plants, warehouses, or production facilities; exposure to machinery and electrical systems; adherence to safety procedures including PPE; ability to work in teams or independently as needed.
Additional qualifications include basic understanding of forming, machining, assembly, and testing processes; ability to read engineering design documents; GD&T and ASME Y14.5 and AS9100 guidelines; and advanced Solid Works design experience including large design tables.
Compensation & BenefitsCompensation:
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000. Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
