Penn Aero is hiring a Production Supervisor (Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 PM – 5:30 AM) at our Monogram Aerospace Fastener company in Commerce, CA. Responsibilities- Supervise various departments and/or processes within the manufacturing floor.
- Operate independently during off-shift hours while coordinating with maintenance, quality, planning, and leadership teams as needed.
- Enforce company policies (Conduct, Quality and Safety) as necessary; train and coach employees as needed.
- Use cascade communication to inform others of unusual or anticipated problems. Hold daily communication meetings with employees to communicate team goals and provide status updates on projects and production.
- Administer company policies in hiring, promoting, disciplining and related areas in conjunction with Human Resources and Management.
- Implement proper procedures or functions to optimize processes, reduce cost and increase productivity while maintaining conformance to customer requirements and industry specifications; participate in continual process improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Lead and drive change using Lean Manufacturing techniques; engage the team through Lean culture techniques.
- Train personnel in the understanding and use of manufacturing and/or tooling blueprints and work orders.
- Implement necessary controls to ensure quality products are produced and delivered on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with company policy regarding quality requirements, Statistical Process Control, documentation, and computer transactions.
- Analyze production reports and conduct audits, train, and coach employees as necessary, and coach production line leads to set up work methods that achieve productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
- Review Engineering Change Orders and participate in Material Review Board as necessary.
- Participate in failure analysis and efficiently solve technical problems; conduct root cause and corrective actions as necessary.
- Effectively carry out production operations and meet production schedules while maintaining product quality across the entire shift; coordinate with inventory, shipping, and planning to process work orders from start to finish and establish working schedules for assigned departments.
- Conduct time studies, establish work methods and workflow, and maintain detailed production records accurately and on time.
- Ensure that safety standards are followed and that safety remains a top priority.
- Work on site at the Commerce, CA location five days a week.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing a union environment is a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Five to ten years industry experience in aerospace fastener manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO
9001, ISO
14001, and SPC preferred.
