MainDuties & Responsibilities
Penn Aero is hiring a Production Supervisor (Sunday-Thursday, 8:30 PM - 5:30 AM) at our Monogram Aerospace Fastener company in Commerce, CA. The Production Supervisor leads, coordinates, and manages production activities across assigned departments to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and on‑time delivery objectives. This position supports company goals and ensures products are manufactured to customer specifications and industry standards. This role is required to be on‑site 5 days a week at the Commerce, CA location.
EssentialFunctions
- Supervises various departments and/or processes on the manufacturing floor.
- Operates independently during off‑shift hours while coordinating with maintenance, quality, planning, and leadership teams.
- Enforces company policies (Conduct, Quality, and Safety) and trains and coaches employees as needed.
- Uses a cascade communication approach, holding daily communication meetings to convey team goals.
- Administers company policies in hiring, promotion, discipline, and related areas in collaboration with Human Resources and Management.
- Implements procedures to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity while maintaining conformance to customer and industry specifications.
- Participates in continual process improvement and cost‑reduction projects.
- Leads and drives change using Lean Manufacturing techniques and engages the team through Lean culture practices.
- Trains personnel in understanding and use of manufacturing and/or tooling blueprints and work orders.
- Ensures quality products are produced and delivered on schedule.
- Maintains compliance with quality requirements, statistical process control, documentation, and computer transactions.
- Analyzes production reports, conducts audits, and coaches employees as necessary.
- Coaches production line leads to set up work methods that meet productivity, quality, and safety expectations.
- Reviews Engineering Change Orders and participates in the Material Review Board as necessary.
- Participates in failure analysis, conducts root‑cause investigations, and implements corrective actions.
- Coordinates with inventory, shipping, and planning to process work orders from start to finish.
- Conducts time studies and establishes work methods and workflow.
- Maintains detailed production records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures safety standards are followed and that safety remains a top priority.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to managing a union environment (a plus).
Education and Experience
- Five to ten years industry experience in aerospace fastener manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO
9001, ISO
14001, and SPC (preferred).
This role involves access to technical data and/or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including ITAR and EAR. Employment is contingent upon verifying U.S. Person status as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 or obtaining required government authorization.
CompensationExpected pay range: $95,000 - $105,000.
Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for additional incentives such as equity, commissions, or other variable performance‑related bonuses. Further details will be provided during the interview process.
