Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for the role,
Operations Manager.
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead day-to‑day operations within an industrial manufacturing or processing environment. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations while developing a strong, engaged team. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with commodities (raw materials, components, or finished goods) and thrives in a fast‑paced, results‑driven operation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all operational activities in an industrial environment, including production/processing, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Develop and execute production plans aligned with business priorities, customer requirements, and capacity constraints.
- Actively manage production planning, inventory control, material requirements planning (MRP), throughput optimization, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Champion and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Establish, monitor, and improve quality, operational, and performance standards.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, purchasing, maintenance, and quality teams to optimize resources and meet delivery commitments.
- Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs and continuous process improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost control, and service levels.
- Maintain a visible, hands‑on leadership presence on the floor to support problem‑solving and execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and hourly teams in an industrial setting.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Own safety program execution, including training, audits, incident investigation, and corrective actions.
- Promote operational discipline and best practices across all shifts.
- Proven experience working in an industrial environment (manufacturing, processing, metals, chemicals, building materials, food, or similar).
- Experience with commodities – raw materials, components, or finished goods.
- Strong working knowledge of production planning, inventory management, MRP, and operational performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a hands‑on operations leadership role.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead in a fast‑paced, physically active environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization experience.
