Job Summary:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that support the Production Plan and customer delivery requirements. This role evaluates material availability, production capacity, labor resources, and manufacturing constraints to ensure production orders are scheduled effectively. The Production Scheduler monitors schedule attainment, maintains ERP system accuracy, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support on-time delivery and operational performance.
Production Scheduling
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on the approved Production Plan.
- Release, prioritize, and sequence production orders to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor schedule adherence and adjust priorities as needed.
- Communicate production schedules, priority changes, and potential delays to stakeholders.
- Identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and production risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify and communicate material shortages that may impact production schedules.
- Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Warehouse teams to resolve material constraints.
- Support expediting activities when required to meet customer commitments.
- Maintain accurate work order status and production transactions within the ERP system.
- Review production progress and resolve data discrepancies.
- Generate and maintain production scheduling reports and performance metrics.
- Support ERP data accuracy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service teams.
- Participate in production and planning meetings.
- Communicate schedule risks and support issue resolution efforts.
- Support initiatives that improve schedule attainment and on-time delivery performance.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in Production Scheduling, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Manufacturing experience required; make-to-order or discrete manufacturing experience preferred.
- ERP system experience required;
Syteline experience is a plus. - Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
