JOB TITLE: Grant Writer/Compliance Manager

DEPARTMENT: Administration

REPORTS TO: C.E.O.

Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW:

FHCCGLA’s Grants and Compliance Manager oversees the full lifecycle of grants—from proposal submission to closeout—ensuring adherence to federal, state, and donor regulations to ensure successful outcomes of funding goals. Key duties include:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Highly organized, motivated, self‑directed Grant Writer/Compliance Manager.
  • Able to work independently, oversee the full grants lifecycle, including prospect research, proposal development, award processing, stewardship, implementation tracking and reporting.
  • Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to identify, develop, and secure funding opportunities, aligning annual grant submissions and award targets with FHCCGLA’s strategic goals.
  • Drive revenue sustainability by renewing grant‑based funding for existing grants and overseeing compliance for all multi‑year funding commitments.
  • Proactively identify and analyze high‑potential funding prospects
    —including private/corporate foundations and public agencies—aligning emerging opportunities with FHCCGLA’s strategic goals.
  • Develop, maintain and optimize a robust centralized grant tracking system that captures deadlines, submission dates, narrative requirements, award amounts, reporting commitments, staff contacts, and budget details—to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Identify new opportunities to support agency growth, capital needs, advocacy initiatives, strategic goals and long‑term sustainability.
  • Lead start‑to‑end high‑quality compelling grant writing proposals and reporting process (e.g., concepts, budgets, LOIs, LOSs, progress/final reports, etc.) with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with leadership & other pertinent staff (assigned to each grant budget/project) to define program objectives and financial requirements, ensuring grant proposals directly advance & align with FHCCGLA’s organizational strategic plan.
  • Craft compelling narratives that clearly communicate FHCCGLA’s organizational priorities such as:
    • Patient needs/demand
    • Program needs
    • Impact
    • Desired outcomes
    • Healthcare initiatives
  • Develop public relations materials, donor packets or media kits, to strengthen funder engagement and organizational visibility.
  • Maintain a comprehensive, audit‑ready grant management system—utilizing dashboards, tracking systems, and progress narratives—to ensure full programmatic and financial compliance for all awarded grants.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between compliance and program teams, developing grant summaries and conducting kickoff meetings to educate staff on restricted objectives, allowable expenditures, and budget spending.
  • Work in partnership with FHCCGLA’s C.F.O. to:
    • Ensure grant budget aligns with grant submission narrative; and
    • Support the reconciliation of grant revenue for internal/ external audit‑ready grant files.
  • Conduct quarterly grant team meetings to ensure that:
    • Grant‑funded programs transition smoothly by adhering to the set timeline.
    • Implementation starts on time and remains on track.
